Common Questions

What is the Suzuki method?

The Suzuki method is a teaching method focusing on listening and repetition to build skills naturally. Students build skills gradually and step-by-step for reinforced understanding and motivation.

Who can join?

Students of all ages and levels are welcome, from beginners to advanced players.

How often are lessons?

Once a week lessons are required to study at Yang Violin Studio. For students preparing for school or symphony auditions twice a week or more lessons are recommended.

Do you provide instruments?

Yang can help recommend quality violins for beginners to rent or buy, but instruments are not provided.

Are group lessons offered?

Currently, lessons are private to focus on each student’s individual growth.

How often should I practice?

Mindful and focused minimum 30-minute daily practice sessions will help any player work towards their goal. Of course more practice such as full hour daily practices will make progress faster and allow maximum use and efficiency of the lesson time. To encourage practice for younger students, Yang suggests keeping a written practice record with signatures of their parents or guardians.
